With the different wars in the Middle East and the horn of Africa, immigrants are trying to cross the Mediterranean into Europe in growing numbers. A lot of them don’t make it. Last Sunday, as many as 900 migrants died when a ship capsized off the coast of Libya.
European Union leaders gathered yesterday in an extraordinary summit in Brussels to discuss possible solutions to the growing crisis. Eugenio Ambrosi is the director of the International Organization for Migration for the EU. He says that European immigration policy has changed a lot in the last year.
