New York Petitions FDA to Combat Benzo Overdoses


Benzodiazopine is the class of medications used to treat anxiety and insomnia. Benzos, as they’re sometimes called, include names you’ve probably heard – like Xanax and Valium. And according to a new study from Yeshiva University, overdoses of these drugs have quadrupled nationwide over the last two decades. In 2014, nearly 8000 people died from benzo overdoses.
